We had Cam’s Birthday dinner with L and Y. It’s a week day so we don’t go too far. We decided to go to San Mateo since it’s close to where they live.
Cam likes American food and 31st union has good review on yelp although it’s surrounded by a lot of good Japanese restaurants 😛 They are the one and only own store but they do take out, delivery, and catering as well. Before we went to 31st Union, we went to pick up the ice cream cake which we have been craving for. This is the first time we tried it. We usually go to Cold Stone for the ice cream cake which is the only cake we love. Before, we don’t know where else we can find the ice cream cake. 31st Union is in a historic building at San Mateo downtown.

Their portion are pretty good. It’s mostly tapas and pizza, chicken, veggie to share.
Mushroom toast, Fish and chip, Brussel sprout are all very good!
They also have small beech mushroom in the pizza, it’s very special and super yummy!
The roasted chicken is the highlight today! It’s very tender and the source with veggie is very special, too! Look at the chicken skin is very crunchy and delicious!
With a fairly cake cutting fee, we had our Cookie Monster ice cream here! They helped us put the candle and cut for each of us, so nice~

It’s a nice place to hangout with friends and happy birthday dinner place, we are definitely coming back again. If you live close by, they have the takeout and delivery! Lucky L & Y~
