Design Graphic Art by Affinity Designer or Postermywall

We constantly design graphic arts using the pictures we took for posters or for advertisement used in social media. Now, there are a lot of different software or online resources could help you to do so. Here, I tried to show you how I use Affinity Designer and Postermywall for a restaurant menu.

Affinity Designer is very similar to Adobe illustrator, you can work with vector design. If you download it from their website, the Mac and Windows version is $49.99. From the App Store, it’s 30% off, the Mac version is $34.99.The iPad version, full price is $19.99 and now having 30% discount, which is $13.99 only. Affinity also has Affinity photo which is a combination of Photoshop and Lightroom, $34.99. It’s a very powerful software and only charges for one time fee. Like Lightroom and Photoshop combination, it’s $9.99 per month subscription. I think it’s worthy to try it if you could do all your design, photo editing on it.

https://www.postermywall.com , Postermywall is a online design page, you don’t need to download the software at all. The whole design process is on the web. Of course, you can design from the scratch. However, it does have thousands of template and design you can use, which could give you some inspiration or help you design much faster. They charge it by each download if you are going to print it out without watermark. But if you just use it online (a small postermywall watermark would show at the left bottom corner), it’s free for download.

Using Affinity Design, creating each line, each box, each text, one by one by one. It’s simple but it also means you can change anything you like.

This one is more complicated, I tried all different colors and fonts for all different text, especially the “RAIBOW” at the bottom 😛

On postermywall, I found this template, I like it and it might work for the menu I want to create.

This is the final result that I used the template to create the menu I need. It’s very neat and cute with a little simple design.

Both Affinity Designer and Postermyall, I like them very much. I would love to use them both. It’s one time fee for a powerful software I can design everything. When I lake of inspiration or need some beautiful template, I am willing to pay a little extra to get what I need. There is another software called, Gravit Designer, it’s similar to Affinity Designer, it’s totally free, I would love to give it a try next time.
