Samy’s Camera in San Francisco downtown

Samy’s camera is a Los Angels based camera chain store in US. They opened their first and only store at San Francisco in June 2013. We have been there several times. It has retail store selling new and used camera, other camera equipments and accessories. They also have repair service, sadly, my Sony RX 100 X is broken. That’s the reason we go to the store this time. I will keep you update after we figure out what happened to my RX 100.

They also have equipment rental and even photography classes. Equipment rental is good for photoshoot especially you go to a destination shoot or you want to try some new cameras and equipments before you want to buy it. They called their photo classes photography school. They also provide free class in the store when you purchase their cameras. I believe it’s a very good chance to learn how to use your new camera. The San Francisco store also host a lot of event and master classes. They have off-site workshop that you can go some photo-worthy place to learn how to take landscape photos like this one. First Horizons Point Reyes National Seashore Photography Expedition with Bob Killen and NPPE. They also have in-store event like this one coming soon. Town Hall Evening with Joe McNally at Samy’s Camera San Francisco. They just have a lot of events and classes going on. You can always check their calendar here.

Here I found some interesting stuff in the store.

There are some exhibition of Andrel Duman. He is a Los Angels based travel, landscape, and aerial photographer. But the thing attracted me is this huge stainless vent hanging in the middle of the store. haha

This build-you-own DSL camera is adorable. I believe it’s a fun kid project but only for kids older than 14-year-old. That’s what it said on the box. It’s only $39.99.

We love instant film prints and cameras that’s why we are so excited to see this in the store. We have InstantFlex and Instax Sahre SP-2. We would definitely show you how to use those cameras and the pictures we took 😀

We love darkroom. We still use film cameras sometimes. We do develop the films and do the scanning by ourselves at home. Samy’s is definitely the best place to get those supplies since we just love the feeling get into a camera store 😛

Bags are the most important accessaries for cameras. Peak Design, an design award winning brand for camera bags, just so happy to see them here, too.
